PAN STUDIO announced on the 28th that its multi-dimensional action X dual fantasy RPG, 'Duet Night Abyss' (PC/iOS/Android), has officially launched its 1.5 seasonal update, 'Prelude to Paradise.

This update marks the first version of the game's new 42-day seasonal cycle, introducing a wealth of content for new, returning, and existing players, including new characters, weapons, side stories, disaster weapon dungeons, and seasonal events.

The highlight of the update is the mysterious new character, 'Aida (??).' A Water type character, Aida (??) wields both polearms and dual pistols with ease and will be permanently available following the update. Players can obtain her for free via 'Request Letters' or purchase her directly from the shop. In line with the unique 'Duet Night Abyss' non-gacha system, players can acquire their desired characters definitively without relying on probability-based draws. Additionally, Aida (??)'s Request Letters can be earned by participating in popular repertoires of the 'Immersive Theater.

New weapons are also being added. The dual pistols 'Best Day' and the pistol 'Sacred Blood Pistol' can be crafted for free through forging or purchased in the shop. Furthermore, new disaster weapons and a permanent high-difficulty dungeon, 'Deep Challenge Defense,' are now open, where players can acquire various materials needed to upgrade disaster weapons. A new rotating weapon, the 'Piercing Obsidian Scythe,' is scheduled to debut on August 18.

Story content has also been expanded. Five new side stories—'What Do We Live For,' 'The Art of Repair Through Zen,' 'Under the Veil,' 'Evidence of Square Sin,' and 'Phaethon's Fall'—are now permanently available, allowing players to delve deeper into the game's world and character narratives through new quests.

System-wide improvements and quality-of-life updates have been implemented. New features include a cutscene replay function, customization for nameplates and personal pages, a 'hide spirit' option, the ability to pin favorite equipment, background music selection for rest areas, and mobile layout controls. Hilda and Aida (??) emojis have also been added to the chat system.

Various events will be held sequentially throughout the season. Players can receive 10 'Resplendent Hourglasses' through the cumulative attendance event 'White Rabbit's Invitation.' Other activities include the new story event 'Bloomfield Station Story,' the simulation training content 'Treasure Hunt Training,' the auto-battle minigame 'Mechanical Puppet Brawl,' the racing content 'Golden Journey: Spirit Race,' and the asynchronous co-op content 'Immersive Theater: Together on Stage.

Notably, a limited-time event titled 'Crimson Nightmare' will begin on August 18, featuring two new costumes for popular characters Camilla and Hilda. Based on the concept of 'wandering in a crimson dream, hoping the dawn never comes,' the costumes highlight the unique charms of both characters, with additional benefits provided for completing the two-set collection. The event runs until 6:00 AM on September 29.

In addition, the update eases the burden of upgrading disaster weapons and deep-layer content. Improvements have been made to the deep-layer compass disassembly and reconstruction functions, the Immersive Theater reward selection method, defense stage entry paths, and maze difficulty and rewards. Numerous bug fixes and stability optimizations have also been applied to ensure a smoother overall gameplay experience.
