2K and FIRAXIS GAMES announced today (the 22nd) that the Part 2 update for the new 'Art and Strategy Collection' DLC for the strategy simulator game Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will be released on July 27 (KST). Along with the announcement, they released a trailer featuring Admiral Yi Sun-sin.

The trailer opens with Admiral Yi Sun-sin's famous quote, "Those who seek death shall live, and those who seek life shall die," while highlighting episodes from the Imjin War, particularly the Battle of Myeongnyang. It then introduces his leader ability, 'Three-Province Naval Commander,' and his agenda, '13 Ships,' both based on his historical titles and his legendary victory at Myeongnyang.

As a leader in the Civilization VII 'Brush and Sword' DLC, Yi Sun-sin's 'Three-Province Naval Commander' ability allows players to train Naval Commanders after researching the Discipline social policy in the Ancient Era. If a player possesses both a Harbor and the Discipline policy, they receive one free Naval Commander. Defeating enemies with naval units grants Science equal to a percentage of the enemy's combat strength, and constructing Science buildings grants EXP to all Naval Commanders. Additionally, for every point of EXP earned by a Naval Commander through combat, the player gains a certain amount of Gold, which scales by era.

The '13 Ships' agenda improves relations with civilizations that possess a certain number of naval units and defensive structures, while worsening relations with those that do not meet these criteria. Based on these traits and the agenda, the leader's preferred starting location is coastal, and his leader attributes are listed as 'Military' and 'Science.' The trailer also provided a glimpse of the Joseon civilization, one of the two new civilizations (Goryeo and Joseon) arriving in Part 2.

The Civilization VII 'Brush and Sword Collection' is a paid DLC covering the history of Korea and Japan. Part 1, released on June 22, added Toyotomi Hideyoshi as a leader along with the Heian and Sengoku Japanese civilizations. Part 2, arriving on July 27 (KST), will officially add Admiral Yi Sun-sin along with the Goryeo and Joseon civilizations.
