Gravity, a global game company, announced on August 5 that it will hold a closed preview and a Pioneer Test for its new multi-platform MMORPG, Ragnarok 3.
Ragnarok 3, the official numbered installment in the Ragnarok IP, tells the story of adventures on the continent of Midgard, where a millennium of peace has been shattered. The original’s classic graphics and soundtrack have been faithfully recreated in high-quality form, and the game will deliver the thrill of large-scale battles through a diverse job system, a simultaneous combat system, and seasonal content.
First, a closed preview event will take place over two days on August 9 and 10. Players selected through a recruitment process by August 4 will have the opportunity to play unreleased content in advance and join dialogue sessions with the developers. Participants will receive an activation code for the Pioneer Test and a small gift.
Following that, from August 12, a closed global unit test—called the Pioneer Test—will be conducted for players in Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and Taiwan. Applications are open through the official Naver lounge until August 8. Selected players will be notified individually via email and the official Discord channel.
The first trailer, revealed on the Naver lounge, showcases core game content including job-specific skill demonstrations, a dynamic weather system, 10-player raid dungeons, and GvG siege warfare. Notably, original towns such as Prontera and Morroc have been rendered with modern graphics, and the day-night cycle and weather changes enhance both spatial depth and immersion.
A Gravity representative emphasized that Ragnarok 3 builds on the legacy of Ragnarok Online by offering signature gameplay mechanics while introducing expansive, large-scale features that exceed those of previous titles. The company invites players to participate in both the closed preview and the Pioneer Test to provide feedback, which will be used to refine and polish the game ahead of its full release.
