On the 15th, NVIDIA announced that it would celebrate its 30-year partnership with SEGA by bringing SEGA titles, including 'Virtua Fighter Crossroads,' to the NVIDIA RTX Spark. The RTX Spark is a new chip designed for slim Windows laptops and compact desktop PCs.

The collaboration between NVIDIA and SEGA dates back three decades. The two companies have co-developed next-generation graphics technology for arcade systems and gaming consoles, and NVIDIA's NV1 chip served as the foundation for the PC version of 'Virtua Fighter,' one of the world's first 3D fighting games.

SEGA plans to expand RTX Spark support to showcase its flagship franchises in new ways. This includes the upcoming 'Virtua Fighter Crossroads,' with the company aiming to support 'Legendary SEGA games' through the RTX Spark platform.

The announcement was held at the SEGA Akihabara arcade (now GiGO Akihabara 3) in Akihabara, Japan. NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang announced the partnership in the heart of Akihabara—a place steeped in arcade gaming history—alongside Haruki Satomi, SEGA COO Shuji Utsumi, 'Virtua Fighter' creator Yu Suzuki, and former SEGA president Shoichiro Irimajiri.

The NVIDIA RTX Spark ecosystem, which includes major industry players like SEGA, aims to provide new gameplay experiences leveraging ray tracing, DLSS, and AI technology, while continuing to inherit and evolve the franchises beloved by gamers.
