NEXUS (CEO Henry Chang) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with global payment platform DCS Pay for token payment utilization and stablecoin settlement.
DCS Pay is a payment platform operated by DCS Fintech (Hong Kong) Limited, with DCS Group as its parent company. DCS Group is a Singapore-based financial group and a licensed issuer that issues credit cards under the supervision of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) through DCS Card Centre Pte. Ltd. DCS Group operates an infrastructure that encompasses card issuance, payment acquiring, and settlement, alongside a payment network spanning millions of merchants.
Through this agreement, both companies will integrate their respective payment infrastructures to drive the expansion of their payment services. First, DCS Pay will support the CROSS ($CROSS) token and the ecosystem dollar CROSSD ($CROSSD) as payment currencies across its global network of millions of merchants, enabling global users to use them for purchasing actual goods and services offline.
In addition, the integration of DCS Pay's payment solutions will be expanded across the entire CROSS platform developed by NEXUS, and a multi-chain-based stablecoin settlement will be introduced to support transactions on the CROSS Shop.
The two companies plan to review further cooperation utilizing DCS Group's global card issuance capabilities in the future. In particular, DCS Group operates 'DCS DeCard,' a card that allows stablecoins like Tether (USDT) and Circle (USDC) to be used for real-life payments, and also possesses an issuance infrastructure that enables other companies to launch stablecoin cards under their own brands.
NEXUS plans to examine the integration of Web3 payment cards based on global credit card networks by combining DCS Group's infrastructure with the CROSS ecosystem. Through this, they will push forward an environment where the CROSS token can be used as an actual means of payment at merchants worldwide. Furthermore, both parties plan to discuss building an integrated payment network that bridges virtual assets and fiat currencies. Through this, the goal is to create an environment where global users can conveniently make payments with virtual assets anywhere online and offline, as well as within the CROSS ecosystem.
Sean Dong, Head of Business Operations at DCS Pay, stated, "We are proud that NEXUS, which is building a globally recognized digital ecosystem, has chosen DCS Pay as its payment infrastructure partner." He added, "Gaming is emerging as one of the most powerful real-world use cases for digital assets, and we are delighted to build and provide a secure and convenient payment environment together."
Henry Chang, CEO of NEXUS, said, "This collaboration is another milestone for CROSS to establish itself as a global real-life payment infrastructure beyond the gaming ecosystem." He added, "In partnership with DCS Group, which possesses global card issuance capabilities, we will build a digital payment ecosystem that both global users and merchants can trust and utilize."
Meanwhile, within the CROSS ecosystem, the mainnet 'CROSS' will be renamed to 'ONEChain,' and the native token 'CROSS ($CROSS)' will be renamed to 'ONE ($ONE).' The ecosystem dollar CROSSD ($CROSSD) will be changed to ONEUSD ($ONEUSD). The structure is designed such that $ONEUSD will serve as the medium of exchange for transactions, while $ONE will function as the store of value.
