StarCraft II Esports in 2019: WCS, IEM Katowice, GSL vs The World, Global Finals and More...

On February 7th, Blizzard Entertainment released some details for StarCraft II esports in 2019.

This year for the StarCraft II World Championship Series (WCS), Blizzard will introduce 3 Circuits that will follow the WCS Winter that is currently underway: WCS Spring, Summer, and Fall. For the 2019 Global StarCraft League (GSL) which is now in its 9th year, there will be 3 seasons alongside 2 Super Tournaments. 2 Global events will also take place in 2019: the IEM Katowice with a prize pool of up to USD $250,000 and an All-Star event named GSL vs The World.

At the end of this year, a total of 16 players from Korea and Circuit (8 players each) will compete for the WCS Global Finals trophy. This year the prize pool will be approximately $500,000 USD and more.
