KSL Champion Sunghyun Kim and ASL Champion Yoonjong Jung Collide at BlizzCon 2018

Blizzard Entertainment announced that there will be a StarCraft exhibition match at BlizzCon, the company’s annual fan festival, in the upcoming November.

At the exhibition match titled “KSL vs ASL”, Sunghyun “Last” Kim, the winner of the Korea StarCraft League (KSL) Season 1, and Yoonjong “Rain” Jung, the winner of the Afreeca StarCraft League (ASL) Season 5, will compete against each other in the format of Best of 5. The match is held at the StarCraft 2 Esports Stadium, Anaheim Convention Center, and is broadcasted live on blizzcon.com.

KSL and ASL are the biggest StarCraft leagues in Seoul, South Korea, where the very first StarCraft esports league began. With the second season ahead, KSL is managed directly by Blizzard Entertainment and Last won the first season in last September. ASL is a league established by AfreecaTV in the year of 2016 and is currently in the 6th season.

Jaedong “JD” Lee and Taekyong “Bisu” Kim who were then selected by fan votes had an exhibition match at the last BlizzCon 2017, but this is the first time to have a competition between two representative StarCraft esports leagues at BlizzCon.

More details about the exhibition match, other esports leagues, and BlizzCon schedules can be checked on the official BlizzCon website.
