T1 jungler Mun 'Oner' Hyeon-jun shared his mindset for the Esports World Cup (EWC) after kicking off the tournament with a satisfying victory.

After winning the first match, 'Oner' Moon Hyeon-joon expressed his relief, saying, "I'm just glad we won the first game." Noting that the team had reviewed their shortcomings from the previous MSI, he added, "We prepared a lot to show a better performance at the EWC. Since it was our first match, there might still be some areas that need improvement, but I believe we will get better as the tournament progresses, so I hope the fans will look forward to it."
T1's next opponent is the LPL's BLG. Oner, who anticipated a rematch as soon as he saw they were in the same group, expressed a strong desire for revenge: "It will be fun to face BLG again. We lost to them at MSI, but I'm determined to win this time at the EWC." He also showed a competitive spirit when asked about other teams he wanted to face, adding, "It would be an interesting matchup if we met AL from the LPL again, as they gave us a hard time last year."
Regarding the atmosphere in Paris, he wittily remarked, "I haven't had much time to enjoy the scenery since we arrived, as I've been focused on preparing for the matches. But I think Paris will look much more beautiful once we win the championship." He added, "It definitely feels different because it's a tournament with so many different games and players. It's nice to run into players and staff from other titles, and the fact that we are all here together is very exciting and meaningful."
When asked about the scale of the tournament and the prize money, he showed the competitive spirit of a professional player. "The prize money is quite large relative to the duration of the tournament," Oner said. "While the prize money is important, what matters more to me as a player is winning every tournament I participate in."
We also asked about his 'tiger necklace,' which caught everyone's eye during the interview. "I've been pushing the tiger as my personal symbol since my debut, so I had it custom-made," he explained. "It reflects my desire to intuitively share my personality and identity with the fans."
Finally, Mun concluded the interview with a heartfelt promise to his fans: "I know many fans were worried after our poor performance at MSI. We have prepared much more intensely for this EWC, and I will repay your support with great gameplay, so please keep cheering for us."
