Capcom shared the latest updates on its titles during the 'Capcom Spotlight' broadcast on June 26. The event, streamed via YouTube, featured new information on Monster Hunter Stories 3, Onimusha: Path of the Blade, and Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.

■ Monster Hunter Stories 3: Crossed Fates

The Monster Hunter series was the first to be featured. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto appeared on the broadcast to announce details for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Crossed Fates, including the new sub-story 'Rudi' and the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion 'Ascendance.

In the 'Rudi' sub-story, players can experience the origins of Rudi, a Royal Felyne who travels with the protagonist. The legendary Felyne who serves as the ancestor of Rudi's clan is Navirou from Monster Hunter Stories. After being caught up in strange phenomena occurring across the land, Navirou encounters his descendant, Rudi, leading the story in an unexpected direction.

The reveal trailer concludes with the appearance of the Elder Dragon Nergigante. While Nergigante cannot be recruited as a Monstie, it serves as a formidable boss that players can challenge in the Rudi story arc. The 'Rudi' sub-story will be released immediately following the broadcast, and will be available to owners of the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions at launch.

A free update introducing 'King Monsters' to the fields will also be released simultaneously. After clearing the game, loading your save data will return you to the point just before the final battle. With the update, loading your post-game save will allow you to challenge a high-difficulty version of the final battle. Clearing this will cause most existing monsters to appear as King Monsters across various regions, offering even tougher combat encounters. Flooded and Heavenly Elder Dragons will also appear as King Monsters.

The Monster Hunter Wilds expansion, 'Ascendance,' is currently in development with a target release of 2027. It will feature a variety of new content, including a story that continues from the main game, new field monsters, hunter actions, and a new quest rank: Master Rank. Further details and a release date will be announced at a later time.

■ Resident Evil Series

For the Resident Evil series, updates were provided on the previously announced RE: Veronica trailer, Resident Evil Requiem amiibo, and information regarding the 30th-anniversary exhibition and concert. The Resident Evil Requiem Grace and Leon amiibo will be released on July 30; scanning them on a Nintendo Switch 2 will unlock exclusive weapon skins. Note that these amiibo will not be released in South Korea.

The 30th-anniversary exhibition, 'World of Resident Evil,' will be held at Shibuya Beam in Tokyo from October 30 to December 24. The event will feature various immersive experiences covering the series' 30-year history. Advance ticket lottery sales begin in early July.

A Resident Evil 30th-anniversary concert will also be held overseas starting in August. This special concert will look back on the series' 30-year history, featuring orchestral performances of selected tracks accompanied by game footage.

■ Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

New information for Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen was unveiled. Director Kento Kinoshita introduced Dark Arisen as an expansion title designed with three goals: to make the game more accessible, to offer a deeper experience, and to be more approachable for all players.

Three major new elements have been added. First is story content set in the new region of Norgan, where Arisen will embark on new adventures. For challenge content, players can use their leveled-up characters to tackle 12 unique dungeons. Character customization has also been expanded with new hairstyles and tattoos.

The background behind the development of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen was also shared. Following the release of Dragon's Dogma 2, the team received extensive feedback from players wanting to explore more of the game world and experience additional content. Director Kento Kinoshita stated that this project was initiated to respond to those requests.

Various elements are being prepared to ensure that existing players can enjoy a more convenient and in-depth experience, while newcomers to the series can enjoy the game in a fresh way.

As with the previous Dark Arisen, players can enjoy new adventures and stories in a region separate from the main game. The new setting, Norgan, is a land shrouded in mystery and ruin, located in a frigid climate. Players can acquire loot through exploration and combat with monsters in this region.

Loot brought back to base can be appraised to obtain powerful weapons and armor. Some equipment features high stats, while others possess special effects or unique skills. A key feature of the game is its hack-and-slash cycle, where players challenge stronger enemies, collect loot, and upgrade their gear to continue their adventure.

The mysterious dragon featured in the key art is central to the story. Its chest, where a heart should be, is empty, and it possesses a power that does not fade even in death. A mysterious woman named Aer, who is tracking the dragon, also appears. Through their journey in Norgan, the Arisen and their Pawn will uncover the hidden truth behind these two figures.

In addition to the recent update, a further title update for the base game of Dragon's Dogma 2 is scheduled for late August. This update will focus on improving quality of life and expanding gameplay options based on player feedback. The late August update will include additional save slots, improvements to the Dragonsplague mechanic, new healing options, and expanded custom skill slots. Public demos for Dark Arisen will be held for the first time at Gamescom 2026. Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be released on October 9 for PC, PS5, XSX|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The new content will be distributed as a DLC expansion for PC, PS5, and XSX|S, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be released as a package containing both the base game and the expansion.

■ Street Fighter Series

News regarding the Street Fighter series was also shared. For Street Fighter 6, the character Yasmin was introduced, joining the previously announced additions of Arjun, Bosch, and Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series.

Yasmin is a character who wields crescent-shaped karambits with ease, using her speed to disrupt opponents. She possesses various surprise attacks that easily force opponents into close-quarters combat. Her ground and aerial ultimate skills can keep opponents off balance. Landing specific hits triggers 'Bayani Mode,' allowing for combos that include enhanced skills for greater damage. Yasmin is scheduled to join the roster on August 3.

The live-action Street Fighter film will be released worldwide on October 16. The film features the return of popular fighters such as Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li, and centers on a tournament to determine the world's strongest fighter with no rules and no restrictions.

■ Onimusha: Path of the Blade

Ahead of its September 25 release, new information and a combat trailer featuring the new Genma, Dohatsuten, were revealed for Onimusha: Path of the Blade. This title is the latest entry in the Onimusha sword-fighting action game series. Set in Kyoto during the early Edo period within a dark fantasy world, it offers the ultimate sword-fighting action experience.

The protagonist of this title is Miyamoto Musashi, who loses his life in a Genma attack but is resurrected with the power of the Oni. He must then confront his fate and the Oni Gauntlet. Players will encounter legendary locations in Kyoto such as Kiyomizu-dera and Yasui Konpira-gu, and face off against his arch-rival, Sasaki Ganryu, among other formidable foes and allies.

Onimusha: Path of the Blade will feature a 'Drama Mode' that emphasizes story and a 'Sword-Fighting Mode' that focuses on combat. Players who complete the currently available demo will receive the 'Mogajito' charm as a bonus for use in the full game.
