Applications for the 'Game Company Project Field Training Program'—organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Korea Game Developers Association, the Korea AI Game Association, and the Daegu Digital Innovation Agency—will be accepted from 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, to 11:00 AM on Monday, July 6.
This program is a public-private co-investment model for talent development, designed to align with recent hiring trends that prioritize 'job competency.' Moving beyond purely theoretical instruction, the program focuses on maximizing the practical skills of young talent through intensive, on-site training integrated with actual game development projects currently underway at participating companies.
In particular, this initiative aims to serve as a 'mutually beneficial support measure' that provides young people with high-quality practical experience while significantly easing the financial burden on game companies hiring new staff. Ultimately, it is expected to establish a virtuous cycle that promotes the entry of excellent young talent into the industry, serving as a solid foundation for the sustainable growth of the domestic game ecosystem.
'Game Company Project Field Training' Application Deadline: Monday, July 6. Applications can be submitted via the websites of the platform organizations: the Korea Game Developers Association, the Korea AI Game Association, and the Daegu Digital Innovation Agency. Companies may choose to apply through any one of these institutions. However, as the application deadlines vary by organization, companies are advised to take note of the specific dates to avoid confusion. The detailed deadlines for each organization are as follows.
▶ Korea AI Game Association: Deadline July 3 (Fri), 11:00 AM
▶ Korea Game Developers Association: Deadline July 6 (Mon), 11:00 AM
▶ Daegu Digital Innovation Agency: Deadline July 13 (Mon), 11:00 AM
Eligible applicants are game-related corporations or sole proprietorships planning to hire new personnel. To qualify, businesses must have been registered for at least one year as of the announcement date, employ at least five regular workers (including the representative), and be enrolled in the four major social insurance programs. All game companies—from large corporations and mid-sized firms to SMEs and startups—that meet these criteria are eligible to apply.
■ Personnel and Practical Training Support via the 'Game Company Project Field Training Program'
Selected companies will receive support for the labor costs of newly hired trainees for up to six months. The support covers up to 50% of the monthly wage, with a maximum of ₩3 million per trainee per month, which is expected to significantly reduce the burden of personnel management for companies. Participating companies will assign selected trainees to actual game development projects and designate internal mentors to oversee practical, on-site training, allowing trainees to gain substantial development experience and build their careers. Following the application period, final participants will be selected through document reviews and video interviews.
Shin Yong-hun, President of the Korea Game Developers Association, stated, "This program is a project-based field training initiative that effectively bridges the gap between the hiring needs of game companies and the practical experience sought by young talent, creating synergy for mutual growth." He added, "As this is a great opportunity for game companies currently conducting development projects to secure top talent and grow together, we ask for your interest and participation." He further noted, "The Korea Game Developers Association will continue to spare no effort in supporting the rights and interests of those involved in Korean game development and fostering a virtuous cycle for the industry."
