RNG Uzi to Take a Month-Long Break From Competitive Gaming... Wink Will Start for RNG

Uzi will take a month-long break from competitive gaming.

On the 15th, RNG made an announcement through their official Twitter page that "Uzi will return to the team after the Chinese New Year holiday, and as a result will be absent during RNG's first two LPL matches this Spring. We want to thank the fans who have been supportive of RNG and Uzi. We look forward to seeing him back in shape and joining the rest of the team."

Although RNG didn't specify the exact reason of Uzi's break, the tone of the announcement and Uzi's previous record of having suffered a number of injuries over the past years lead us to believe that the break is for Uzi's personal health recovery. The two matches that Uzi will sit out are RNG's matches against Suning Gaming on Jan 20, and against LGD Gaming on Jan 22. He will be back on the team for RNG's match against Vici Gaming on Feb 15. Until then, RNG's substitute ADC player, 'Wink', will play in place of Uzi.

Known as one of, if not the best ADC player in the world, Uzi was a key component for RNG during their early successful run in 2018. As a long-time veteran of the scene and a staple player of the team, his absence will most certainly impact RNG's overall performance. How Wink will fare against the other ADC talents of the LPL is unknown.
