EPID Games released an alpha build teaser video today (Nov. 2) for its upcoming collectible RPG, 'Trickcal Fatima'.
'Trickcal Fatima' is a new title based on the 'Trickcal' IP that was unexpectedly unveiled on June 29. It has captured the interest of subculture gaming fans with visuals that bring out the signature cuteness of its predecessor's squishy cheeks in an anime style, a unique overview, a near-future setting with a slice-of-life atmosphere, and dynamic skill animations.
The newly released teaser compiles footage from an alpha test, offering a look at the game's overall structure, including the title screen, lobby, character information window, growth content, and in-game gameplay. In this alpha build, just as in the previous title, players start the game by pulling a character's cheek, which then transitions into an animated lobby screen showing characters walking around a city.

On the lobby screen, players can access various menus, including "Recruit" for drawing characters, followed by navigating into the character progression menu called "WorkNet" to inspect various growth elements. Similar to the previous game, it features a personality-based attribute system (such as Gloomy and Lively), while the term "Mutiny" indicates that the character level cap is synchronized with the account level. In addition to the previous title's Aside system, an "Album" feature similar to the Board was also spotted. However, rather than a Princess Connect!-style system of clearing stages to gather equipment materials and rank up, the game appears to adopt a mechanic focused on farming and enhancing set items—referred to as relics—and optimizing their options.

Next, under the main content section "Departure", three sub-contents are presented: "Cuberinth", "Exploration", and "Full Ownership Tour", after which entering "Exploration" transitions into combat gameplay. Battles are fought with a 4-character party in a turn-based system driven by speed and action gauges. Notably, before a character on turn uses a skill, the camera shifts to an angle emphasizing the character's rear view, and characters react when specific body parts are touched. After briefly spotlighting the general structure of the growth content "Full Ownership Tour", the alpha build teaser concludes with a boss battle.

Following the in-game showcase, EPID Games CEO Han Jeong-hyun, Vice President Shim Jeong-seon, and Producer Lee Hyun-seung appeared to share additional insights. CEO Han Jeong-hyun explained, "Since we have a strong passion for animation, we worked hard to bring out that graphic style and gameplay. We are also paying close attention to visual effects and boss fights," revealing that the studio is currently seeking a publisher so it can fully commit to development. Producer Lee Hyun-seung followed up with a characteristic joke, saying, "We will do our best not to have to 'Revive' this time," before emphasizing, "We are looking for a publishing partner for global expansion so that we can focus entirely on development." Finally, a text banner at the end of the video announced that recruitment for 1st CBT testers will take place in Q1 2027.
Further details and announcements regarding the CBT for 'Trickcal Fatima' will be made available through the teaser page in the future.
