Blaze Entertainment has launched the Evercade Nexus, the newest handheld in its cartridge-based Evercade retro lineup. It went on sale October 30th 2026 at Amazon, Funstock, Best Buy, GameStop and other Evercade retailers across Europe and the US.
The console costs $199.99, £169.99 or €199.99 per the official Evercade Nexus page. Each one ships with Rare's BANJO-KAZOOIE Double Pack cartridge, which holds the Nintendo 64 classics Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, plus a USB-C to USB-A charging cable. A mains adapter is not included.
Evercade has sold its games on physical cartridges since the platform launched in 2020. Blaze says the library now runs past 80 cartridges and 700 games, from publishers such as ACTIVISION, TAITO and Rare and series such as TOMB RAIDER, DUKE NUKEM, LEGACY OF KAIN and DOOM. The Nexus plays every existing Evercade cartridge.
Bigger screen, two sticks
The Nexus has a 5.89-inch 840×512 IPS screen with over 500 nits of peak brightness, the largest screen Evercade has put on a device. Its larger body makes room for dual analogue sticks, which Blaze says give players the full feel of 64-bit and 32-bit games.
Inside are a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 4GB of storage and a 5000mAh battery rated for more than five hours. WiFi 6 is used for system updates. The unit weighs 410g, comes in black and has a light-up RGB logo that players can customize.
Returning features include TATE Mode for vertical-screen arcade games, display ratio and scanline options, an in-console library that tracks which cartridges a player owns and monthly Indie Heroes bonus games delivered through updates.
Local multiplayer with one cartridge
The headline new feature is EverSync. It links two Evercade Nexus consoles directly, without WiFi or an internet connection, so two people can play the same game at the same time on their own screens. Only one cartridge is needed, so the second player does not have to own the game. A second Nexus is required.
‘The Evercade Nexus has arrived, marking a huge moment for us and an exciting new chapter for Evercade,’ said Andrew Byatt, CEO of Blaze Entertainment. ‘Nexus brings together everything we believe in: great games, physical ownership and the joy of discovering something new.’
An official hard shell EVA carry case with room for six cartridges and a screen protector kit will be sold separately. A limited Evercade Nexus 64 Edition, exclusive to Funstock and capped at 2,000 units, is listed as sold out on the official page.
Blaze Entertainment is based in Letchworth, UK. Other current Evercade hardware includes the Evercade Alpha, EXP-R and VS-R.
