On the 29th KST, T1 secured Game 1 in their matchup against Movistar KOI (MKOI) in the 2-1 pool of Round 4 in the Swiss Stage at the 2026 LoL World Championship (Worlds), held at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, USA. It was a game where 'Doran' shined, delivering an all-around performance in both teamfights and side lanes.
MKOI got off to a good start in Game 1. They secured First Blood with a successful three-man gank targeting 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok's Syndra, and scored one-sided kills during a Voidgrub teamfight through a skill combination between 'Alvaro's Alistar and 'Elyoya's Qiyana. T1 gradually fought back centered around 'Oner' Mun Hyeon-jun's Lee Sin, bringing the score to a 3-3 tie.
Afterward, both teams traded blows while maintaining a tight balance. The breakthrough came from 'Doran' Choi Hyeon-joon. He disrupted the enemy's macro flow by taking down 'Myrwn's Gnar in the side lane. Around the 21-minute mark, he initiated a teamfight with his ultimate by catching Alistar, and after winning a decisive victory in the clash, T1 secured Baron as their prize to build a meaningful lead.
Having taken a heavy blow, MKOI caught their breath after stopping T1's dragon stack through a great play by Gnar, who drew the enemy's attention and safely escaped. MKOI came out on top in the next dragon teamfight as well. Gnar stole the dragon and performed brilliantly by adding to the CC chain from Qiyana and Alistar. With the Baron buff, MKOI even overturned the global gold lead.
Around the 39-minute mark, the seventh dragon spawned to decide the owner of the Dragon Soul. As MKOI started hitting the dragon first, 'Doran' delivered a clutch super play. He accurately landed his ultimate on 'Supa's Kai'Sa to initiate the teamfight and turn it into a kill. Wiping out MKOI after they lost their ADC, T1 marched straight into the enemy base to close out Game 1.
