Chucklefish has announced that Witchbrook, its magic life-sim co-developed with German studio Robotality, will launch on January 28th 2027 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

According to a release, the date was revealed during Nintendo Indie World on October 28th alongside a new gameplay trailer. The PlayStation 5 version is a new addition. Witchbrook will cost $24.99 (regional pricing will be confirmed closer to launch), and it will be on Xbox Game Pass from day one.

Witchbrook is Chucklefish's fourth in-house title. The London studio is best known for Starbound and the Wargroove series, and it also published Stardew Valley.

Life at Witchbrook College

Players take on the role of a witch-in-training at Witchbrook College, which sits in the seaside town of Mossport. Classes cover subjects like Alchemy, Astrology, Tarot and Rituals. Students complete assignments, sit exams and unlock new spells on the way to graduation.

Life outside lessons is a big part of the game. Players can make friends and find romance, run a witch business that serves the local community and join clubs. Seasonal events, birdwatching, bug-catching and fishing fill out the calendar. There is also a woodland cottage and garden to renovate, plus options to customise your witch.

Up to four players can play together in online co-op.

The new trailer walks through a typical school day. It shows classes and exams, spellcasting, browsing the library, making salves and potions and reading tarot cards, and it gives a first look at some of the magical creatures players will meet. New screenshots and key art are on the game's official media page.

Witchbrook will support English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. More details are on the official website.
