Skystone Games has launched a crossover with the TV anime Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX in Crystal of Atlan, its free-to-play magicpunk MMO action RPG, live today (October 28th) on PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5) and mobile.
According to a release, the crossover arrives in the same update as a new level cap of 80. The patch also brings a fresh Adventure Chapter, new gear and the return of the game's Halloween event. Players get three collab activities: the [Simulated Warzone] dungeon, a collection event called [Memory Dive] and a [Tactical Protocol] reward track.
The tie-in is built around the 2002 series. Ghost in the Shell began as a manga by Masamune Shirow in 1989; STAND ALONE COMPLEX is set in 2030 and follows Public Security Section 9, a special unit fighting cybercrime. In the game's story, Section 9 picks up a strange signal inside Atlan. A warzone shaped by the unit's tactics appears at its source.
Tachikoma battles and collab rewards
[Simulated Warzone] is a four-player minigame. Each player pilots a Tachikoma (the series' spider-like think tank) and shoots rivals or enemies to collect [Ultra Cogs], which upgrade the machine. Getting knocked out by another player drops some of those cogs. Final rankings pay out [Prime Prosthetics] and [Neurochips].
Neurochips raise the [Tactical Protocol] level, unlocking collab rewards over time. In [Memory Dive], players spend SP on [Cyber Cores] to unlock clues, with rewards at each stage. Two cosmetics headline the set: Motoko Kusanagi as a pet, plus a Think Tank Tachikoma mount with five paint options.
Level 80 and Doradoween
After maintenance on October 28th, the level cap rises from 70 to 80. Players at level 70 can finish a Level Breakthrough quest to raise it. The new Adventure Chapter, [Hymn of Redemption], opens a map called Frozen Sanctuary; new gear arrives with it.
The Halloween event [Doradoween] runs from October 28th to November 18th. It includes a [Journey Memories] puzzle and a boss fight against [Lord Fat Ken], who drops Halloween headwear. Players can also hunt for a hidden pumpkin (it unlocks secret achievements) or collect [Midnight Fudge] to trade for rewards. Progressing the [Wonderland] main quest unlocks event quests that award the [Pumpkin Fiend - Limited Time] headwear.
Crystal of Atlan is free to play on mobile, PC via Steam and PlayStation. More details are on the official website and the game's Discord. Developed by Nuverse and published by Skystone Games, it launched on Steam on October 30th 2025.
