T1 secured their second win by defeating CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) in Round 3 of the 2026 LoL World Championship (Worlds) Swiss Stage, held at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, on October 27 KST. It was a victory earned by overcoming a tough situation through teamfights that maximized their composition's strengths.
"There were many difficult moments," said 'Doran' Choi Hyeon-joon in a video interview with Inven after the match. "We made mistakes during the early lane swap phase, which allowed the opposing Kai'Sa to get over-scaled, making the game tough for us. Still, I find great meaning in the fact that we ultimately turned the game around by playing to the strengths of our composition."
The turnaround started with a mid-lane teamfight around the 24-minute mark. Led by 'Keria' Ryu Min-seok's Rakan, a clean chain of skills poured in to instantly shut down the fed Kai'Sa. Doran explained, "Since Kai'Sa had built a Seeker's Armguard, it wasn't easy to chain skills starting with Vi. However, Rakan executed a great initiation at a timing the opponent didn't expect."
Now T1 is just one win away from advancing to the Quarterfinals. Naturally, their next opponent will not be easy. They will face one of the formidable teams: LPL's IG, TES, and BLG, along with LCS's LYON and LEC's Movistar KOI, all of which have been showing strong form. However, Doran emphasized, "I don't pay attention to who the opponent is. The most important thing is to advance to the Quarterfinals with a clean performance, no matter who we face."
He also spoke about draft tier lists, which are considered crucial at Worlds. "Every team has a different view on draft tier lists," he said with confidence. "Rather than prematurely deciding which side is correct, I think it's more important to set our direction around the champions and macro playstyles we excel at. I believe we can deliver good results that way."
Regarding his personal goal for this World Championship, Doran stated, "Rather than aiming for grand goals, I try to focus more on the immediate match and the game itself." He expressed firm resolve, adding, "We have one match left to advance to the Quarterfinals, but I'll approach it with the mindset that this is just the beginning. I'll prepare even harder to reach the Quarterfinals stage with a strong performance."
