Seoul-based publisher LINE Games has announced that QUIET, an online co-op horror comedy for one to four players, will release its first demo on October 22nd on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

According to a release, the demo follows a first playtest that drew more than 350,000 sign-ups. In the end, 271,132 players from 148 countries joined in. LINE Games said the team used their feedback to fix major bugs and add requested features. The build has also been tuned to run more stably.

Co-op horror games pit a small group of players against a threat they can't simply fight off, so survival comes down to teamwork. In QUIET, that threat has very good ears.

Players are alien ducks stranded on Earth. Their spaceship is broken, so the flock searches a nearby house for the parts needed to repair it. The catch? The homeowner is, in the release's words, ‘a monster who can hear every sound you make’.

How QUIET plays

Movement and dropped objects can give players away. So can real-world sounds picked up through a player's microphone (one is required to play). Up to four players can work together, though a single noisy mistake can put the whole group in danger, the announcement says.

The demo adds a new four-player Arcade Stage called ‘Duck Out’, along with a spaceship-themed waiting room that LINE Games said was inspired by player feedback. There is special Halloween content, too.

QUIET will also be featured in The MIX Fall Showcase this month. The MIX (short for Media Indie Exchange) runs showcases for independent games. After that, the game takes part in Screamfest, from October 26th to November 2nd. LINE Games has not yet shared a full release date, though the game's Steam page currently lists Q1 2027. It can be wishlisted there now.

LINE Games, a subsidiary of LINE Yahoo, is a publisher and developer based in Seoul. It makes and publishes games for PC, console and mobile; its portfolio spans action role-playing games (RPGs) and narrative adventures, among others, and the company says it aims to bring titles from Korea to players worldwide.
