H2 Interactive announced that 'RuneScape: Dragonwilds', an open-world survival crafting game developed by Jagex, officially launched on September 15 for PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.
This title marks the first time in the 25-year history of the 'RuneScape' series that an entry has launched on console platforms. It recorded over 1.5 million copies sold during its approximately 18-month Steam Early Access period.
'RuneScape: Dragonwilds' is a standalone game that can be enjoyed separately from the MMORPG 'RuneScape'. Players can explore various regions of Ashenfall solo or with up to four players in co-op, gathering resources to craft gear and bases.
The magical force 'Anima' flows throughout Ashenfall. It can be utilized not only in combat, but also for resource gathering, gear crafting, base building, and exploration. The full launch version includes the regions, quests, game systems, enemies, and items introduced during Early Access through the 'Fellhollow', 'Dowdun Reach', and 'Umbral Sands' updates.
The fourth major update, 'Scorned Wilderness', has also been applied across all platforms. This update brings the first main storyline, the 'Kuldra Saga', to a conclusion and supports cross-play between PC and consoles.
The digital version is available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Jagex Launcher, and respective console platforms. The PS5 physical standard edition is scheduled for release in Q4, while the Nintendo Switch 2 physical standard edition is slated for release in Q1 2027.
