Possibilities have emerged that Neowiz may base its follow-up title to 'Lies of P', which reinterpreted Pinocchio, on 'The Wizard of Oz'.
On the 10th, it was discovered that Neowiz filed a trademark application for 'Wonder of O' with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). 'Wonder of O' is a title reminiscent of the classic fairytale 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'.
Speculation that Neowiz would adapt 'The Wizard of Oz' for the sequel to Lies of P has been raised steadily for some time. In the post-credits scene following the ending of Lies of P, the name 'Dorothy' was directly mentioned, and a scene was shown where a young girl wearing red shoes clicked her heels together three times in the streets of Krat. This served as an iconic homage to the original fairytale, leading to widespread speculation at the time that it was hinting at the world of the next title. The recent trademark filing lends further weight to this hypothesis.
Meanwhile, NOUGH Studio, the Neowiz studio behind Lies of P, had previously mentioned in an official video prior to the discovery of the trademark filing that a sequel to Lies of P is currently in development. What subject matter the sequel will adapt and its release date remain unannounced, with further details expected to be shared in the future.
