On September 8, the '2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' Finals Media Day was held at the Chzzk LoL Park in Jonggak. The head coach and two representative players from Gen.G Esports—who directly qualified for the finals—as well as Hanwha Life Esports and T1, who are preparing for the finals qualifier, attended the event.
In particular, Lee 'Gumayusi' Min-hyeong and Ryu 'Keria' Min-seok, who once played together as a bot lane duo, drew attention by attending the event together. Late last year, Gumayusi transferred to Hanwha Life Esports, bringing an end to their five-year partnership. Currently, Keria is paired with Kim 'Peyz' Su-hwan, while Gumayusi is teaming up with Yoo 'Delight' Hwan-joong.
Gumayusi expressed his gratitude, saying, "When I was on T1, Min-seok helped me a lot both in gameplay and drafting. It's a bit disappointing that I can't get that help anymore." He added, "However, meeting as opponents is fun because I get to face a great bot lane, and there's the upside of feeling even more proud when we win."
Regarding his current partner Delight, he smiled and praised him, saying, "Just like his nickname, he has a bright, sunshine-like image. When he plays comfort champions like Alistar or Rakan, he is truly lightning-fast."

Keria also looked back on Gumayusi, describing him as "a player who helped the team immensely both on and off the stage and instilled a healthy mindset." He also expressed confidence, stating, "He can be tricky to face in many ways, but on the other hand, I know his playstyle very well. If we execute our draft and gameplay properly according to that, we can definitely win."
He did not hold back praise for his current partner Peyz either. Keria spoke highly of him, saying, "Peyz has incredible mechanics, and his ability to find damage angles and set up teamfights is exceptionally outstanding compared to other players."
The two players, who built numerous accolades together as teammates—including three consecutive World Championship titles—now face each other on a single-plank bridge in the finals qualifier. Attention is focused on whether these two players, who know each other better than anyone, will choose a head-on clash or unveil a surprise secret weapon.
