StudioBside today (2nd) revealed 'CounterSide: Ante-Exilian' (hereinafter 'CounterSide: A'), a reboot project for its urban fantasy RPG 'CounterSide'.
CounterSide is StudioBside's flagship title, having operated from its launch in February 2020 through August 26, 2026. Although it underwent various upheavals early on—ranging from changes to its monetization model to transitioning from Nexon publishing to self-service—the game earned strong player support thanks to its unique lane-battle gameplay rendered in high-quality 2D sprites and a compelling narrative showcasing heroes struggling to stave off destruction. Although the offline themed cafe Cafe Strega closed on June 28 and the game's service ended on August 26, the community remained active as CEO Ryu Geum-tae promised a return through a reboot project. And today (2nd), the CounterSide reboot became official as StudioBside opened official social media channels for the reboot project, CounterSide: A.
Currently, the official CounterSide: A social media channels have only released a theme illustration featuring the game name, title logo, main characters Hilde, Yoo Mina, and Joo Shiyoon, along with the primary ship Gleipnir. While no other in-game details have been revealed yet, the profile description specifies the genre as a "hard-boiled urban lane battler," suggesting the new title will inherit and expand upon the original's lane-battle mechanics.
Further details regarding CounterSide: A will be updated through its official social media channels at a later date.
