Dplus KIA defeated Gen.G 2-1 in the final match of Round 4 of the '2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)', held on August 22 at the ChZZk LoL Park in Jongno. Despite losing to DK, Gen.G locked in 1st place for the regular season by taking the series to a full three games.

In Game 1, a bot lane skirmish at level 2 saw 'Ruler' on Ezreal pull off a super play to kill 'Smash' on Yunara. When 'Lucid' on Vi rotated bot, Ezreal took down Vi as well, giving Gen.G a massive early boost. Although DK managed to shut down Ezreal when their mid laner collapsed bot, 'ShowMaker' on Locke also fell and Gen.G secured the dragon, making it a net positive for Gen.G.

Gen.G continued to build advantages and control the game. DK needed a bold move, and despite giving up top, they committed four players to the bot lane, demonstrating great strength by juggling aggro perfectly to eliminate Olaf, Seraphine, and Pantheon. While the game wasn't flowing entirely as Gen.G hoped, they steadily accumulated dragon stacks.

As Gen.G started Baron to accelerate their snowball, Ezreal was caught, allowing DK to push Gen.G back and take Baron for themselves. Gen.G secured the Dragon Soul in response, but by 29 minutes, the gold lead was only around 3,000. Ultimately, however, Gen.G fought calmly in the final teamfight to overcome DK and claim Game 1.

In Game 2, Gen.G scored three total kills during a Voidgrubs fight, with 'Kiin' on Twisted Fate picking up two kills and 'Canyon' on Xin Zhao getting one. DK responded in the bot lane behind 'Lucid' on Lee Sin, eliminating Bard and Xin Zhao while stacking two dragons. In exchange, Gen.G's Twisted Fate, assisted by Bard, picked off 'Siwoo' on Gnar.

Gen.G then set up a play targeting Viktor in the mid lane, but Lee Sin turned crisis into opportunity with a spectacular play to claim a triple kill. Lee Sin then secured the next dragon in the following fight, putting DK at three stacks. However, Gen.G stayed in it as 'Ruler' on Caitlyn chipped away with kills, denied DK's Dragon Soul, and won a teamfight. After both teams initiated mid-lane plays, DK won the resulting fight and secured Baron. DK cleanly won the final fight as well to tie the series 1-1.

In the decisive Game 3, DK's 'Lucid' on Maokai executed sharp ganks bot to kill 'Duro' on Renata, then visited mid to pick off 'Chovy' on Syndra. Furthermore, 'Smash' on Lucian and 'Career' on Milio caught 'Canyon' on Wukong, firmly shifting momentum to DK. Although 'Siwoo' on Jayce died in the top lane, DK executed a bot-lane dive to kill 'Kiin' on Gragas along with 'Chovy' on Syndra, who had joined via Teleport, securing massive gains for DK.

Gen.G refused to back down easily. They attempted a forced play at top with Renata and Gragas, managing to eliminate both members of DK's bot duo. Leveraging Gragas's variable factor, Gen.G kept pace, keeping the gold gap small. A major fight erupted during the 22-minute dragon contest; though DK gave up the dragon, they won the teamfight.

Capitalizing on a pick onto Wukong, DK started Baron, and after securing it, wiped out the remaining enemies for an Ace. Maintaining pristine performance afterwards, DK overwhelmed Gen.G to cap off the final match of the regular season with a 2-1 victory.
