Dead by Daylight has launched a NieR:Automata Cosmetic Collection, dressing three of its characters as 2B, A2 and Emil.

According to a release, the collection is available from October 6th. Two of the game's Survivors take on the look of the androids 2B and A2, while The Legion, one of its Killers, gets an outfit based on Emil.

For those unfamiliar, Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer horror game in which Survivors try to escape a Killer during matches known as Trials. The game is set in The Fog, a realm belonging to a being called The Entity.

What the NieR:Automata collection includes

2B and A2 have been added as Legendary Outfits for Feng Min and Yui Kimura respectively. Both outfits replace the Survivors' usual appearance with that of YoRHa androids, the soldiers at the heart of NieR:Automata's story.

Emil comes to The Legion as a Very Rare Outfit, with the release highlighting his distinctive look and 'unsettling grin'. As this is a Cosmetic Collection, every item changes how an existing character looks. None of the three NieR:Automata characters has been added as a new playable Survivor or Killer.

Why NieR:Automata is coming to The Fog

NieR:Automata launched in 2017 and follows androids fighting what seems to be an endless war in a bleak, post-apocalyptic world. The release credited its soundtrack and unusual mix of genres, and described its philosophical story as a standout of the last decade.

According to the release, the two games have more in common than first appears. Characters in both are trapped in harsh worlds where suffering keeps returning and escape looks unlikely, and the release framed The Entity's Realm as one more nightmare for 2B, A2 and Emil.

"I think NieR:Automata is a game that leaves its mark on anyone who plays it, and we're thrilled to welcome it into the world of Dead by Daylight," said Dave Richard, Creative Director on Dead by Daylight. "Beyond the amazing characters and incredible visuals, there's a definite connection between the themes of our two universes, both dealing with cycles of violence and suffering."

Richard added: "Bringing 2B, A2, and Emil into The Fog gave us a chance to help celebrate what makes NieR:Automata so special to us." Pricing for the individual outfits was not included in the release.
