On the 31st, Kakao Games announced the official launch schedule and unveiled the key illustration for its upcoming MMORPG 'Dokkaebi World,' currently under development by Supercat.

Kakao Games plans to officially launch 'Dokkaebi World' in October, following a pre-registration period in August and a showcase in September to gear up for the release. The September showcase will reveal the game's core systems and service-related information.

Along with the release schedule, the company unveiled a representative illustration that captures a different aesthetic from the pixel art of 'Dokkaebi World.' The illustration features key characters, including 'Mong-ryeon,' a symbolic figure who bridges 'Dokkaebi World' with the original work, 'Myeolgwi Sudojeon.' The design also highlights the game's unique, mystical Eastern atmosphere and Korean sensibility through reinterpreted traditional costumes, soft lantern light, and deep, rich background colors.

'Dokkaebi World' is a K-Fantasy mobile MMORPG that emphasizes flexible character growth that transcends traditional class boundaries, diverse skill combinations, and guild-centered cooperative content. The game aims to provide a differentiated experience through its 2.5D hybrid graphics—combining 2D pixel characters with 3D backgrounds—a deck-building system for free skill customization, and guild-focused collaborative gameplay.

Meanwhile, the fantasy web novel 'Myeolgwi Sudojeon,' which serves as the source material for 'Dokkaebi World,' has been adapted into a webtoon and began serialization on Naver Webtoon on July 22.

Regarding the official release schedule for 'Dokkaebi World,' Cha Myeong-su, Business Division Director at Kakao Games, stated, "We are putting the finishing touches on the game to ensure we fully deliver the unique, differentiated fun that 'Dokkaebi World' has to offer." He added, "We plan to reveal various aspects of the game sequentially through pre-registration and a showcase, so we ask for the continued interest and anticipation of our users."
