The 2026 Indiecraft Organizing Committee (Co-chairs Lee Ju-yeon, President of Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency; Hwang Seong-ik, President of the Korea Mobile Game Association) announced the final selection of 72 outstanding developers (52 in the domestic sector and 20 in the Challenger sector) to participate in '2026 Indiecraft,' Korea's representative indie game exhibition. An official from Indiecraft explained the judging process, stating, "This year saw the highest number of entries in history, making competition fiercer than ever. With a large number of high-quality works submitted, the judging panel deliberated deeply to distinguish the winners, and reaching the final selection was fraught with difficulties." In particular, regarding the domestic sector, following an in-depth review by the Selection Adjustment Committee, it was confirmed that there were numerous excellent developers exceeding the initial selection scale of 50 companies; consequently, two additional companies were selected, finalizing the list at 52. The 72 developers selected through rigorous screening will participate in the 'Indiecraft Networking Day' on June 19. At this event, a semi-conference led by game industry experts will be held, along with a networking program where all attendees can interact and explore business opportunities. Subsequently, the selected companies will be provided with online and offline lectures on data analysis methodologies utilizing AI, and a business commercialization support program linked with sponsors will also be launched in earnest. In addition, they will participate in the '2026 GXG' offline exhibition to be held this coming September to continue the second round of competition to select the final top 3 developers. Lee Ju-yeon, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee (President of the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency), stated, "Despite the intense enthusiasm resulting from the record-breaking number of entries, we were able to select developers with true talent through a fair evaluation process," adding, "We will continue to provide administrative and institutional support so that Seongnam can establish itself as the center of indie games in Korea." Hwang Seong-ik, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee (President of the Korea Mobile Game Association), said, "I am delighted to have selected outstanding indie developers who will lead the Korean game industry," and stated, "As they were selected after overcoming fierce competition, the Organizing Committee will spare no support to help them grow into competitive K-Indie Games in the global market." Meanwhile, the full list of developers participating in the '2026 Indiecraft' exhibition is scheduled to be officially announced via the official Indiecraft website in June.
