UPDATE Nov. 15: During the Dot Esports League of Legends Free Agency Show, Jacob Wolf stated that the clause in Perkz's buyout contract from G2 Esports to Cloud9 that prohibits Fnatic from signing Perkz through 2023 was signed by both G2 & C9, but not Perkz himself.

According to a report by Dot Esports' Jacob Wolf, Fnatic filed a complaint with the LEC office in the past few weeks to investigate a clause in the buyout agreement Cloud9's buyout agreement with G2 Esports for Luka "Perkz" Perković, which was signed in late 2020. The clause in question was a clause preventing Perkz from playing for Fnatic through 2023, but a top-level Riot Games investigation by the global office reportedly determined no harm following Fnatic's complaint.

Following the investigation, it was reportedly determined that the clause did not affect Perkz's potential prospects for the 2022 season. Sources told Dot Esports disagreements between Fnatic and Cloud9 that over the cost of the buyout and Perkz’s desired salary were the reason why the clause was not considered to affect Perkz's potential offseason opportunities. The report also states that Perkz will instead join Team Vitality for 2022 as he is ineligible to play for FNC until 2024.

Sources also told Dot Esports that Riot Games would not be allowing clauses similar to the one in question from Perkz's buyout contract from G2 Esports to Cloud9, though both organizations and Riot Games declined to comment on any such ruling, present or future.

Team Vitality has been busy this off-season. The team qualified for its first post-season in two years this past summer following the acquisition of jungler Oskar "Selfmade" Boderek from Fnatic, but is clearly looking for more in 2022. VIT's reported acquisition of Perkz is one of many along reports of acquiring Team Liquid top laner Barney "Alphari" Morris and reported contract extension for Selfmade and support Labros "Labrov" Papoutsakis.

The most recent player to be tied to Team Vitality is MAD Lions AD carry Matyáš "Carzzy" Orság, who is reportedly planning to sign with VIT for the next three years once the free agency window opens on November 15.
