On Mar. 13, in the 2021 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split, T1 and Fredit BRION both shut out their opponents, Gen.G and Afreeca Freecs, respectively. T1 secured the 8th win of the season and Fredit BRION kept their hopes up for the playoffs by gaining their 5th win.

The first match was between T1 and Gen.G. T1 featured their 10th different roster of the season as they started Canna, Cuzz, Faker, Teddy, and Keria. Although it was the first time T1 played this roster on stage, their performance was flawless. In the first game, Gen.G took priority in the lanes and Kim "Clid" Tae-min's Udyr utilized its quick jungling to get an advantage. However, as Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan had successful ganks in the top lane, the game went T1's way. In 17 minutes, the kill score was 7-0 in favor of T1. Gen.G tried to strike back from the sidelanes, but T1 didn't allow it. T1 finished the game in 33 minutes with a 10K global gold difference and without even surrendering any turrets.

If the top side carried the first game, the second game was blown quickly from the bot side. Park "Teddy" Jin-seong's Kai'Sa collected 5 kills in only 11 minutes. As Gen.G was trailing on the bot side, they tried to strengthen Kim "Rascal" Kwang-hee's Camille. It seemed to work a bit as they collected three kills. Gen.G also stole Baron to buy more time. However, as Kai'Sa started striking here and there, there was nothing Gen.G could do to stop her. Through the win, T1 got extremely close to securing a spot in the playoffs.

The second match was between Fredit BRION and Afreeca Freecs. The two teams fought fiercely until the 20-minute mark. The game came down to objectives. Afreeca Freecs score first in this regard. They collected three dragons and used Kim "Kiin" Gi-in's Jayce to push to the second turret in the bot lane. Fredit BRION responded by luring Afreeca Freecs to Baron. In this teamfight, Yoon "Hoya" Yong-ho's Gnar smashed three champions into the wall and Fredit BRION was able to take the game.

Afreeca Freecs picked mid Nocturne in the second game. However, the pick wasn't able to shine in the early game. They weren't able to find a proper target when Nocturne first reached level 6. The second game also tilted at a Baron fight. Although Afreeca Freecs started the fight, Fredit BRION was able to win. They also won the following fight and the kill score became 16:8 in Fredit BRION's favor. From that point on, Fredit BRION didn't lose their lead and finally collected their 5th win of the season.
