[LCK Today] DWG destroys DRX in match between the top two, AF sweeps HLE

On the 30th (KST), in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split, Afreeca Freecs played Hanwha Life Esports and DAMWON Gaming faced off with DRX.

Afreeca Freecs played confidently against Hanwha Life Esports. They didn't hesitate when engaging and punished their enemy when they crossed the line. Starting from the first blood, Afreeca Freecs pushed against their opponents. Although Hanwha Life Esports tried to hit back, Afreeca Freecs were too much ahead. Afreeca Freecs destroyed Hanwha Life Esports' Nexus in 26 minutes.

The second game started off even, but as Song "Fly" Yong-jun's Zoe assassinated the opponent Azir, Afreeca Freecs started to go ahead. By taking down Azir another time through a gank, they secured priority in the mid lane. On the other hand, Hanwha Life Esports picked off Mordekaiser and Ashe. However, the priority in mid lane started to spread throughout the map. Fly was all over the Rift, bothering Hanwha Life Esports in all aspects of the game. In this process, Zoe recorded four kills and became unstoppable. After a big teamfight win, Afreeca Freecs slew Baron and they closed the game before Hanwha Life Esports could get back on their feet.

The first game between DAMWON Gaming and DRX didn’t go as most fans expected. The game itself was full of kills -- over one kill per minute, but it was extremely one-sided. Heo “ShowMaker” Su’s Zoe and Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu’s Sett were unstoppable. Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon had the worst game of his career as he went 0/8/0 on Camille. DAMWON Gaming scored all over the Rift and took the victory, scoring nearly one kill per minute all by themselves.

In game 2, DAMWON Gaming took Camille themselves, along with Galio. The Camille-Galio combo was quite effective as they successfully executed their ganks in top and mid lane. It seemed that DAMWON Gaming would have another massive win, but the game balanced out as Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu’s Xayah cut off Galio. However, DRX made a critical mistake just ahead of the third dragon. Xayah was cut off by Karthus and ShowMaker’s Galio went in the middle of DRX’s champions to win the teamfight massively. They collected Baron and the third dragon, moving far ahead of DRX.
