OFF RPG Definitive Edition Release Date

Fangamer and developer Mortis Ghost have set Aug. 15 as the digital launch date for the remastered role-playing game OFF on Nintendo Switch and Steam. Priced at $14.99 (or regional equivalent), the full game will be available through both platforms’ online stores, with progress from the free Steam Next Fest Prologue carrying over to the complete release.

Physical editions for Nintendo Switch are slated for release in the first quarter of 2026, with preorders opening for both the Standard and Bad Human editions. The publisher has indicated that final street dates will align with the physical launch window, and it is exploring options to bring the Bad Human edition to European markets.

During Steam Next Fest earlier this summer, OFF’s free Prologue demo generated significant enthusiasm, amassing more than 140,000 wishlists and earning a “Very Positive” rating on Steam. The demo will remain accessible until July 31, after which it will be removed to focus on polishing the full game; however, saved progress will still transfer to the retail version.

The updated battle system introduces a critical-hit mechanic that players can charge and unleash on enemies or menu actions to gain bonus effects, such as extra health restoration when using items. Feedback-driven enhancements include an animated critical indicator in menus and a ticking clock gauge that signals the timing of boss super-moves, offering clearer cues during encounters like the Dedan fight.

OFF invites players to guide the enigmatic Batter through surreal zones—ranging from a metal-extracting cattle farm to an eerie amusement park—armed only with cryptic guidance from a grinning cat known as the Judge. This definitive edition, overseen by OFF’s original creator, promises new areas, bosses and modern platform support for a cult classic reborn.
