Dignitas announced the signing of AD Carry Toàn "Asta" Trần on Friday, June 6, filling the final roster spot in the DIG roster. While it has not been decided who will play for Dignitas and Dignitas Academy specifically at the start of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series and 2020 LCS Academy League Summer Split, there are now 10 players under the DIG banner.

Asta was signed by OpTic Gaming Academy before the start of the 2019 LCS Spring Split, and ended up making some LCS starts for OpTic Gaming due to visa issues. Asta remains with OPT until the end of the season when the organization was acquired by Immortals. Asta's joining of Dignitas marks his return to the LCS Academy League for the first time in 2020.

Six players are returning from the Spring Split for Dignitas this summer. Mid Laner Henrik "Froggen" Hansen, AD Carry Johnson "Johnsun" Nguyen, and Support Zaqueri "aphromoo" Black started every game in the 2020 LCS Spring Split. Jungler Matthew "Akaadian" Higginbotham spent the majority of spring on Dignitas Academy before being promoted to the main roster for the final six games of spring.

Samson "Lourlo" Jackson started in the Top Lane for Dignitas Academy for the entirety of the Spring Split, but Froggen mentioned in an interview with Inven Global that Lourlo had actually spent a lot of time practicing with the main squad while Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon was figuring out his visa before the start of the 2020 season.

"Switching from Lourlo to Huni was pretty smooth," Froggen explained. "Lourlo has been doing well; in the scrims he played with us, it didn't feel very different in terms of the way he wanted to play or the way the team played with him."

Kim "FeniX" Jae-hoon, a career Mid Laner, started in the AD Carry position for Dignitas Academy this spring, but assumedly will return to his primary position. Not only does Dignitas already boast two other AD Carries in Johnsun and Asta, but FeniX's services will be needed in the mid lane now that Tanner "Damonte" Damonte has been signed by Golden Guardians.

Asta is the fourth new Dignitas signing of the off-season. Former FlyQuest Top Laner Omran "V1per" Shoura was signed after Huni joined Evil Geniuses. Juan "JayJ" Guibert was replaced as FlyQuest Academy's starting Support by Terry "Big" Chuong, and was subsequently signed by DIG to replace Kim "Olleh" Joo-sung. Olleh joined Golden Guardians alongside Damonte, but Olleh will be a part of the coaching staff instead of playing for GG as he did in 2019.

The big off-season signing for Dignitas was the acquisition of Jungler Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett from TSM.  Dardoch has taken the spot of Jonathan "Grig" Armao on Dignitas, the latter of whom was signed by Team Liquid Academy early in the off-season. TSM, looking for a change in the Jungler position, has decided to promote Mingyi "Spica" Lu from TSM Academy to fill Dardoch's shoes.

Dignitas has yet to confirm the roster for both its teams, but the 2020 LCS Summer Split starts on Friday, June 12 and the 2020 LCS Academy League Summer Split starts a day earlier. DIG Academy's first matchup will be against Golden Guardians Academy Thursday evening, so look for the organization to announce its opening week rosters in the next few days.
