Rockstar Games has made a surprise announcement that it will debut a new video for GTA6 via Netflix.

On the 6th, Rockstar Games announced that 'GTA6: An Extended Look' will premiere on the 28th at 4:00 AM KST.
The video will be released exclusively on Netflix first, followed by a release on Rockstar Games' official YouTube channel and the official website for GTA6 six hours later, at 10:00 AM KST on the 28th. It has not been officially confirmed whether the video will feature actual gameplay or if it will be more of a behind-the-scenes making-of feature. However, given the title 'An Extended Look,' there is growing anticipation that it will contain a larger portion of gameplay than previous releases.
Netflix highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating that 'the release of a GTA title has become a cultural event in its own right.' Brandon Riegg, Vice President of Nonfiction Series at Netflix, emphasized the importance of Rockstar choosing to share the next chapter of 'GTA6' with Netflix members first. He explained this in the context of Netflix's broader vision, noting, 'We want to be the place where the most ambitious storytelling, regardless of the medium, can reach the widest possible audience.'
This marks the third video release for GTA6. The first, released in December 2023, was a teaser that introduced the protagonists, Jason and Lucia. The second trailer, released in May 2025, focused on showcasing the scale of the open world, including the game's setting of Vice City and the state of Leonida. That second video became a major topic of conversation, racking up over 475 million views within 24 hours of its release. Consequently, the potential synergy between Netflix and Rockstar is drawing significant attention.
This is not the first time Rockstar and Netflix have collaborated. In late 2023, Netflix added 'GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition' to its mobile game service, and 'Red Dead Redemption' is also currently available in the Netflix game catalog. However, this is the first time a new trailer is being exclusively premiered in a non-game, live-action video format. Industry observers are now watching to see how this might shift traditional YouTube-centric game marketing practices in the future.
