SKT Huni-Peanut: "I'm happy to have won our first match"

On the second day of 2017 LCK Spring Split, SK Telecom T1 started the season with a match win against Jin Air Green Wings with a 2-0 record.

While all members of SKT were very impressive, it was even more impressive for Seunghoon "Huni" Heo and Wangho "Peanut" Han as it was their first match playing for SKT. Huni proved that he is also an expert at playing defensive toplaners with Maokai and Poppy, and Peanut was a menacing predator with Kha'Zix and Rengar.

Let's hear what Huni and Peanut have to say about their first win with SKT.

Congratulations on your victory against Jin Air Green Wings! How are you feeling right now?

Huni: I'm happy to have won our first match of the season with a 2-0 record, and I'm even happier to have won my first match in the LCK.

Peanut: It means a lot to have won our first match after joining SKT. I'm confident that I'll continue to do well in future.

Huni, how do you feel about playing in the LCK compared to playing in the EU LCS?

It feels better for me to be playing in Korea since it's less stressful to be playing together with world-class players, and it's good to have many fans cheering for me. All the coaching staffs are very good to me too, so I'm doing pretty well with their help.

Peanut, SKT and ROX Tigers must have quite the difference in team mood. How different are they?

It's more similar than you might imagine. [Laughs] ROX Tigers did feel more lively, but I think it's because SKT has two different houses for practicing and relaxing. Also, having ups and downs in mood depending on scrim results is the same for all teams.

Huni, with the new 10-ban system, many champions are making their unexpected debut in the LCK. Will there be more surprises like this?

We have many more tricks up our sleeve, but they are confidential for now. I'll just say that I'm second to none when it comes to champion pool.

Peanut, SKT was often said to be lacking in offensive junglers. Are you satisfied with your first match playing for SKT?

I was not happy that I have given them a solo kill in Set 1. Other than that though, I am pretty happy with how I did today. The teamwork between Sanghyuk "Faker" Lee and I has built up well, and we often had the upper hand in both the midlane and jungle.

Huni, if you were to play with a offensive toplaner, what champion would you like to play?

Camille, but I don't think she will make it past the ban phase.

Now that you are playing for SKT, what are your plans for future?

Peanut: Winning the playoffs, of course. I also want to win the World Championship too.

Huni: It's my dream to have my own personalized skin after winning the World Championship.

Thank you both for your time. Any parting words?

Huni: I would like to thank the fans who showed their concerns and worries about me joining SKT. While some were less polite about their worries, I'm very grateful for those comments since they were a good motivation for me to work harder. I'm happy that I was able to show how hard I have worked and I promise to do even better in future.

Peanut: I would like to thank the fans who were excited that I was joining SKT. I'm assuming that my performance with ROX Tigers was good enough to prove that I'll be worthy of SKT. I'll make sure to do even better in future.
