The open beta for the 4v4 tag-team fighting game 'Marvel Fighting Souls' runs from 4:00 PM today (the 24th) to 3:59 PM on Monday, July 27 (KST). Marvel Fighting Souls is scheduled for official release on PS5 and PC on Friday, August 7.

This open beta is available on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store without prior registration, and pre-loading begins two hours before the beta starts. Anyone can play without a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Marvel Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag-team fighting game presented by PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games. Players can build their own dream teams of Marvel heroes and villains, enjoying intuitive controls, strategic team play, and combat featuring a variety of tag actions.

The open beta will feature 16 of the 20 launch characters and six iconic stages inspired by Marvel locations, including #1 Marvel New York, #2 Wakanda, and #3 X-Mansion. Key content from the full version, such as online casual and ranked matches, local battles, open lobbies, and training mode, will also be included.

Notably, the 'Startup Battle' interactive tutorial, which helps players master core game systems, and the first three chapters of the Episode Mode—featuring the story of the 'Amazing Guardians' team led by Spider-Man—will be available for the first time. Players can get a preview of the game's world and combat through motion-comic style sequences.

In the open lobby, players can choose from 16 avatars to interact freely with others. They can communicate using chat, stickers, and emotes, or jump straight into matches via arcade cabinets.

A beginner's guide has also been released, introducing core elements such as character selection, basic controls, combos, defense, and the team system. It provides various gameplay tips to help even those new to fighting games enjoy the open beta with ease.

Marvel Fighting Souls supports multiple languages, including Korean, and features gameplay and system improvements based on community feedback following last year's closed beta. More details regarding the open beta can be found on the PlayStation Blog.
