Beyond the standard 1vs1 Official Matches, FC Online (FCO) features a game system called 'Manager Mode Official Match.' While Official Matches are a test of both tactics and manual skill, Manager Mode is purely a battle of tactics. It offers a unique appeal compared to standard matches, leading some players to focus exclusively on this mode. Furthermore, since most daily tasks can be completed in Manager Mode, it is a very accessible and low-pressure way to play.

Even if you're playing casually, winning is always better, right? Today, we’ll discuss Manager Mode tactics that even beginners can easily apply.

Since player control is not a factor in Manager Mode, the effective formations and tactics differ from those used in standard Official Matches.

Currently, the most popular tactic is the 'Zero-Top,' which uses no strikers. While there are slight variations in the midfield, they all share the same base: a four-man defensive line with no dedicated strikers. The most commonly used formations are '4-1-2-3-0' or '4-1-4-1-0.'.

Once your formation is set, the next step is to adjust your team tactics. While you are welcome to create your own unique style, it’s not a bad idea to use the values researched by other players, especially since the AI is in control.

For defense, we highly recommend [Constant Pressure], [Width 5], and [Depth 10]. This is used by most top-tier Rankers and is widely considered the most stable setup.

There are also optimized settings for offense. We recommend [Long Pass], [Width 7], [Players in Box, Corners, Free Kicks: 1], and setting your Team Tendency to [Ultra-Attacking]. If you prefer a playstyle focused more on box play, it’s a good idea to reduce the Width and allocate those points to 'Players in Box.

Next are individual tactics. Looking at the settings of top-ranked players in Manager Mode, there is a somewhat standardized formula for individual tactics as well.

For the front three, set two players to [Always Defend] and the remaining one to [Stay Forward]. For the midfield, we recommend setting two players to [Join Attack] and the player in the holding role to [Balanced Attack]. Fullbacks and center-backs should be set to [Stay Back While Attacking].

While not as critical as your formation or tactics, player traits have a meaningful impact and are worth setting up. Some traits make a significant difference, so we recommend acquiring or using players who have them. Traits like [Two Hearts] and [Titan] are highly popular.

Don't forget about additional training coach traits. For attackers and midfielders, [Skilled Physicality], [Mid-Range Shot Boost], and [Quick Penetration] are useful. For the defensive line, [Standing Tackle Boost], [Left/Right Defense Enhancement], and [Re-organization] are recommended.
