Sports Interactive has ended update support for 'Football Manager 26' (FM26). The recently released 26.3.2 Patch is the final one, and any bugs discovered moving forward will be logged but not fixed.

On July 14, the developer confirmed on its official community site that "26.3.2 is the final update for 'FM26'." While reports submitted to the bug tracker will continue to be collected internally, no further fix patches will be released. However, the channels for feedback and feature requests will remain open to inform the development of the next title.
By the numbers, it is hard to call the game a failure. 'FM26' has been played by over 8 million people, making it the second most-played title in the series' history. Following the national team management update, which included the FIFA World Cup 2026™ license, over 100k users lifted the championship trophy in-game.
However, the developer's own assessment was sobering. The community team admitted, "In any other year, this would have been a notable achievement, but it fell short of the goals and expectations we had for this new era," adding, "We have a lot of work to do." 'FM26', which promised a major overhaul alongside its transition to the Unity engine, faced criticism immediately after launch for UI confusion and missing features. Some features, including national team management, were only restored later.
What remains is the task of rebuilding trust. The developer stated, "Everyone at the studio is focused on regaining that trust," while noting, "It is up to you, the players, to judge whether we have succeeded once you play the next game." To improve communication, they have hired Chris Groves as a new Senior Community Manager and announced plans to refine how they engage with users.
News on the next title is coming soon. The developer stated, "We will share information about 'FM27' over the coming months." No release schedule or details on the direction of the overhaul have been provided yet.
