Hanwha Life Esports has successfully captured the 2026 MSI championship. In their first-ever appearance at the tournament, the team overcame numerous crises to lift the trophy. With this victory, Hanwha Life Esports has also secured a spot in the 2026 World Championship.

In the decisive fifth game, BLG got off to a strong start. After securing the first Dragon, they executed a clean four-man dive to take down Hanwha Life Esports' bottom duo. Hanwha Life Esports fought back fiercely, however. After catching out 'On's' Neeko to catch their breath, they traded kills 3-1 in a 4v4 Dragon teamfight—with both top laners absent—and secured the Dragon for themselves. BLG regained the lead in the following teamfight, however, by perfectly catching out 'Gumayusi' Lee Min-hyeong's Varus to secure a major victory.

With BLG holding a slight lead, the third Dragon spawned. 'Xun's' Vi, who was lying in wait, cast her ultimate skill on 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo's Sylas, but thanks to Sylas' quick movement back toward his team, it was Vi who ended up being caught. During a standoff in the mid lane, 'Zeus' Choi Woo-je's Dr. Mundo was engaged upon, but he managed to escape with a sliver of health, allowing Hanwha Life Esports to successfully counterattack once again.

The momentum shifted in favor of Hanwha Life Esports. After picking off 'Bin's' Aatrox, who was positioning from the back near Baron, they secured two additional kills and claimed the Baron as their prize. BLG still showed their resilience; in a sudden teamfight, they used superior movement to survive, trading only their damage dealers to sweep up four kills. They then successfully picked off Varus in the mid lane to secure an ace.

Following two disastrous teamfights, the situation, which had been in Hanwha Life Esports' favor, returned to square one. Riding the momentum, BLG initiated a fight by starting the Baron. However, 'Kanavi' Seo Jin-hyeok's Pantheon successfully stole the Baron, and in a side skirmish, Sylas and Dr. Mundo took down 'Viper' Park Do-hyeon's Miss Fortune. Having secured a decisive victory, Hanwha Life Esports charged into the enemy base and brought the long series to an end.
