HoYoverse announced today (the 9th) via its official community platform, HoYoLAB, that the device requirements for 'Genshin Impact' will change with the 7 update.
'Genshin Impact' 7 is scheduled for release on August 12. This version will introduce Snezhnaya, the land of ice and the stronghold of the Fatui. It is highly anticipated, as it will feature new characters, including the 'Tsaritsa,' the Cryo Archon and the true leader of the Fatui.
Since its launch, 'Genshin Impact' has consistently provided content updates and graphical improvements. The evolution in character modeling is clearly visible when comparing early characters to more recent ones. This trend continues in 7; HoYoverse explained that it will be upgrading the visuals of new characters and improving overall graphics, including new field textures, which necessitates changes to the device requirements.
HoYoverse stated that due to GPU architecture compatibility issues with certain Android SoC models, it can no longer guarantee stable performance on the following devices.
▶ Mali - G52 MP2 or Mali - G57 MP series GPUs (UNISOC T606, T612, T616, T618, T619, T610, etc.)
▶ Imagination (IMG) BXM series architecture GPUs (MediaTek Dimensity 7,020, MediaTek Dimensity 7,025, MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra, MediaTek Dimensity 7,030, MediaTek Dimensity 930, etc.)
▶ Early PowerVR (GE/GM/Rogue) series architecture GPUs found in MediaTek Helio P35, Helio G36, Helio G25, etc
While some problematic SoC models have been added to the list, the minimum and recommended requirements for PC, iOS, and consoles remain unchanged. Furthermore, the recommended and minimum supported Android SoC (Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 / MediaTek Helio G88), memory (4GB), and operating system (Android 10) requirements remain the same as before.
