G2 Esports announced Tuesday that it is partnering with Lufthansa, Germany’s flagship airline, as the team prepares for the League of Legends World Championship 2025.
The deal makes Lufthansa the official travel partner of G2’s League of Legends roster, ensuring the reigning LEC champions travel in comfort to this year’s Worlds, which will take place in China from Oct. 14 to Nov. 9. Matches are scheduled across Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu.
The partnership comes as G2 looks to capture its first-ever League of Legends World Championship. Despite multiple deep runs at Worlds and dominance in Europe, the organization has yet to secure the game’s most prestigious title.
Expanding Esports Partnerships
The collaboration highlights a growing trend of traditional global brands investing in competitive gaming. Lufthansa, one of Europe’s largest airlines, has increasingly extended its presence in esports, seeing the industry as a way to connect with younger and digitally engaged audiences.
For G2, the move underscores its emphasis on blending high-level competition with entertainment and lifestyle partnerships. The organization, founded in 2015, has become one of the most recognizable names in esports, boasting teams across multiple titles and a reputation for fan engagement.
Further details on the collaboration, including fan activations and community-focused initiatives, are expected in the coming months. The League of Legends World Championship remains one of the most watched esports tournaments in the world, drawing millions of viewers each year. With the 2025 edition set across multiple Chinese cities, G2 and Lufthansa are positioning themselves not only for competitive success but also for greater visibility in an international spotlight.
