Netmarble Showcases Project EVILBANE at Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025

Netmarble has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming dark fantasy action game Project EVILBANE during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 Broadcast, offering fans a fresh look at combat and cooperative play.

Developed by Netmarble Monster, the title is a third-person co-op action game built on Unreal Engine 5. The trailer highlights dynamic encounters where players can swap seamlessly between melee and ranged weapons in real time, emphasizing tactical counters and team coordination.

Alongside large-scale boss battles, the footage revealed the first look at the “Heavenstone” system, a mechanic that enables powerful skills capable of altering the flow of combat. According to Netmarble, the feature is designed to encourage cooperation by allowing squads to combine abilities at key moments.

NETMARBLE UNVEILS NEW TRAILER

Pre-alpha testing for Project EVILBANE began Aug. 29 through the Xbox Insider Program in the United States and Canada and has since expanded to several regions including Brazil, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Netmarble confirmed that additional territories will be added in the coming months as community feedback continues to shape development.

Wishlist pages for the game went live on Xbox and Steam on Sept. 25, giving players the opportunity to track updates ahead of release. Specific platforms and a launch window have not yet been announced. “Project EVILBANE is being built hand-in-hand with our community as their feedback from early testing directly shapes the game’s direction,” said Jung Ho Lee, Netmarble’s game publishing director, in a statement.

The game is set in a sprawling, dark fantasy world where players form squads of up to four to combat demonic forces, rival warlords and hostile factions. Missions are designed to expand in difficulty and scale, offering higher rewards as players progress through dangerous territories. For more details, players can visit the official website or the game’s Xbox and Steam store pages.
