Uzi Named Second Inductee into Riot Games’ Hall of Legends

Riot Games announced May 20 that Jian Zihao, better known by his in-game alias Uzi, will become the second player inducted into its Hall of Legends, following Lee Sang-hyeok, known as Faker. The lifetime honor recognizes individuals whose contributions have shaped the global League of Legends Esports scene.

Widely celebrated as one of the most dominant bottom-lane players in history, Uzi’s precise mechanics and aggressive, dive-oriented style helped elevate the profile of China’s League of Legends Pro League (LPL) on the world stage. His engaging presence off the Rift also played a key role in bringing mainstream attention to competitive play throughout the region.

Uzi first rose to prominence with Royal Club/Star Horn Royal Club, leading the team to consecutive World Championship final appearances in 2013 and 2014. He later joined Royal Never Give Up (RNG) from 2016 to 2020, during which time he qualified for Worlds six times, reaching the quarterfinals or better in four of those campaigns.

The apex of Uzi’s career arrived in 2018, when RNG captured both LPL Spring and Summer titles as well as the Mid-Season Invitational crown, and he secured a gold medal for China at the Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games. A victory at the World Championship would have completed the coveted “Golden Road” sweep of every major regional and international title in a single season; instead, RNG’s run ended in the quarterfinals.

His formal induction will take place Friday, June 6, in Shanghai, where Mercedes-Benz will debut original artwork honoring Uzi and present him with a custom EQ-equipped G-Class vehicle. On Wednesday, June 12, an in-game event will launch to celebrate his career, offering a themed event pass and exclusive skins developed in collaboration with the player.
