HLE Seeks Redemption vs. Gen.G and Dplus KIA as Patch 25.10 Shakes Up the LCK

The League of Legends Champions Korea regular season returns for Week 8, pitting Hanwha Life Esports against two of the region’s most formidable opponents. Action unfolds May 21–25 at the LCK Arena in Seoul’s Jongno district, with HLE seeking to recover after a stumble in Week 7.

HLE’s attempt to extend its franchise-best winning streak ended at three games with a loss to KT Rolster, then rebounded with a decisive victory over DRX. This week’s slate opens Wednesday, May 21, against Gen.G, a team that has taken seven of their last ten encounters. Although HLE claimed the LCK Cup title over Gen.G earlier this year, the squad was swept in the regular-season opener, and Gen.G’s form has sharpened in recent weeks. On Saturday, May 24, HLE faces Dplus KIA, which holds a slim 6–4 series edge. Dplus KIA snapped a six-match skid May 10, fueled by standout performances from jungler Choi "Lucid" Yong-hyeok and bot-laner Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram, each securing pentakills in the same outing.

Week 8 also debuts Patch 25.10, featuring a comprehensive overhaul of magic-damage items. Liandry’s Anguish receives significant reductions, while burst-oriented gear—including Luden’s Companion, Morellonomicon, Hextech Rocketbelt and Rabadon’s Deathcap—gains potency. Early solo-queue data indicates a marked rise in win rates among champions reliant on these items. Junglers see targeted tweaks as well: Vi’s Vault Breaker damage cap rises while her ultimate falls back, Nunu’s passive deals less to monsters and Xin Zhao’s base armor is reduced. Adjustments to Voidling spawn times on the Ionia-themed map further elevate Dragon control, promising fresh strategic layers in both draft and gameplay.

Dplus KIA’s Aiming earned Week 7 highest gold honors for the third time this split, averaging 17,031.4 gold per contest. His performance peaked with a pentakill on Seraphine against BNK on May 16. Weekly recipients receive a silver commemorative coin from Woori Bank, and the season’s top performer will be awarded a gold bar. Fans can predict each week’s leader through the Woori Bank Won Banking app for a chance to win a signed Polaroid.
