On the 5th, Kwon 'Chase' Chang-hwan of DN Supers advanced to the winners' bracket after a 2-0 victory over Cho 'Minion' Min-hyeok of Kiwoom DRX in the second match of Group A at the '2026 FSL Summer' group stage, held at the DN Colosseum in Jamsil. After a hard-fought first set that ended in a penalty shootout, 'Chase' bounced back from his lackluster performance by scoring four goals in the second set.
The following is the full transcript of the winner's interview with 'Chase'.

Q. Could you start with your thoughts on the win.
'Chase' = It had been a long time since our last tournament due to the extended break. Stepping onto the stage felt a bit new, and I was quite nervous. Still, I'm very relieved and happy to start the season with a win.
Q. How did you spend your time during the long break.
'Chase' = Looking back at the last FSL Spring, I realized there were technical aspects to fix, but I felt there was even more to address in terms of psychology, so I focused a lot on my mental game. In-game, I think the introduction of new traits has changed the flow of the game compared to before. So, I put a lot of effort into researching and analyzing those new traits and added elements.
Q. The 'Trickster' trait has been a hot topic lately. Do you think players who master it will have an advantage this season?
'Chase' = Trickster is a great trait, but I think 'Line Breaker' is just as good. While Trickster requires high-level control to truly shine, I see Line Breaker as a solid, reliable trait for anyone. Ultimately, I think players who can utilize Line Breaker well while also being proficient with Trickster will have a significant advantage.
Q. So, you mean players who are versatile with various traits have the upper hand?
'Chase' = Exactly. Many players draft their teams primarily around players with the Line Breaker trait and then add Trickster to them. I believe players who can effectively utilize both will be the strongest.
Q. How was it facing your opponent today, Cho 'Minion' Min-hyeok?
'Chase' = After the bracket was released, I watched videos of Cho's previous tournament matches before today. I thought he was a player who stays calm and quietly executes his game plan. However, while I was nervous today, I think Cho was even more so, which seemed to prevent him from playing at his full potential.
Q. The tempo in the first set suddenly picked up during extra time. Could you explain what happened?
'Chase' = I scored the first goal so early that it was one of the fastest I've ever experienced in a tournament. I thought I could comfortably control the pace, but once I had the lead, I subconsciously started playing defensively to protect the score, which ended up working against me. I conceded an equalizer, and then fell behind after giving up another goal in extra time. Honestly, my play was a bit messy, so I'm very lucky that I managed to force my way through with pure physicality to score and win the match.
Q. How was the penalty shootout in the first set.
'Chase' = To be honest, I'm usually terrible at penalty shootouts in practice. Since my success rate is low, I didn't dwell on whether I saved his shots or not. Because I struggle with them in practice, I just cleared my mind and thought, 'If I lose, I lose,' which I think led to a good result.
Q. Conversely, in the second set where you scored four goals, where did you find the weaknesses in your opponent?
'Chase' = In the first set, I didn't feel like I had played a perfectly calculated game; it felt more like I was forcing a lead through sheer mechanical skill. But after that set ended, I became convinced that I could keep breaking through even if I just relied on my mechanics. I felt so confident that I could penetrate their defense no matter how I attacked that I stayed mentally relaxed, even when I conceded a goal.
Q. Although you won today through physicality, you must have identified areas for improvement.
'Chase' = Even though I won today, I'm still not where I need to be to advance past the group stage and into higher rounds like the tournament bracket. I have my own play patterns that I've been honing while preparing for this tournament, but I didn't use them even once today. I think I'll need to be more proactive in trying and utilizing those practiced patterns in the next match to get better results.
Q. You must have watched the first match of Group A today. Could you evaluate your opponents?
'Chase' = In my view, 'Noise' seems to develop his attacks in a way that best suits the Line Breaker trait. I think 'Noise' is the biggest beneficiary of the Line Breaker trait, so I'll need to prepare thoroughly for that. I didn't have much data on 'ARC', but he showed a much better performance than I expected. I'm not sure if I'll meet him later, but I think he's a player with a lot of potential.
Q. Lastly, a word for the fans who are cheering for you.
'Chase' = During the last FSL Spring, three of us from DN Supers made it to the Round of 16, but we were disappointed that we couldn't achieve more, and I felt sorry for those who supported us. For this Summer season, we will stick together and do our best so that as many of our players as possible can go beyond the Round of 16 to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and beyond. I would appreciate it if you could continue to support our team, DN Supers.
