Hanwha Life Esports secured the first win of their '2026 LoL Mid-Season Invitational (MSI)' bracket stage winners' bracket round 2 match against G2 at the Daejeon Convention Center Exhibition Hall 2 on the 5th.

Hanwha Life and G2 fought fiercely from the start. They engaged in a tense psychological battle, trading blows aggressively from the laning phase. In a skirmish near the top lane, G2 secured two kills, taking down Kanavi’s Vi and Delight’s Camille. In return, Hanwha Life caught out Labrov’s Nautilus in the mid lane.
After securing the first Dragon, Hanwha Life found stability as Kanavi's Vi reached level 6 before the opposing Xin Zhao, subsequently taking him down. Hanwha Life then won a top-lane skirmish, beginning to widen the gold gap. When G2 committed all their members to the top lane, Hanwha Life responded quickly and came out ahead.
In the bottom lane, Zeus’ Ambessa took down Broken Blade’s Warwick, while Hanwha Life simultaneously secured the Rift Herald in the top side. By the 15-minute mark, Hanwha Life had built a 4k-gold lead and quickly stacked three Dragons. Although G2 appeared to gain an advantage through a strong mid-lane skirmish during a difficult period, Ziggs, Yone, and Ambessa cleaned up the situation well, ultimately allowing Hanwha Life to come out on top.
While G2 caught Ambessa in the bottom lane, Hanwha Life took the Baron. Despite Hanwha Life's momentum, G2 continued to land punches with their signature unpredictable timing and movements. Nevertheless, at a moment when they could have been dragged into G2's pace, Hanwha Life managed to pick off Nautilus and Ryze.
However, in the following fight, G₩2 a teamfight thanks to Warwick's tenacity. Hanwha Life bounced back to win the next teamfight, secured the Dragon Soul, and moved to the Baron. When G2's champions approached, Hanwha Life pivoted into a teamfight, decisively winning the final engagement to claim the first victory of the series.
