T1 announced the termination of their contracts with head coach Yang "Daeny" Dae-in and coach Lee "Zefa" Jae-min on Wednesday, at the half point of LCK Summer Split.

Although there have been a few cases of a head coach leaving a team during a season, the termination of a contract with eight games left in the season was unexpected. It is especially shocking given that Daeny gave out a message of confidence in the interview after a win against Gen.G last week.

T1 will have an online press conference with their GM regarding the contract termination this afternoon. More in-depth details will be cleared up at the online conference Q&A.

Update: July 15, 10 a.m. KST: T1 announced that Son "Stardust" Seok-hee and Kim "Moment" Ji-hwan will be leading the team for the rest of the summer season.

Stardust debuted in the esports scene as a Starcraft player. He played from 2008 to 2015 before transitioning to a coach in League of Legends. Starting from 2017, he coached H2k-Gaming, 100 Thieves, All Knights, and Flamengo Esports.

Moment has coached in REVERSE Gaming and Jin Air Green Wings. He joined T1 as a coach back in 2019.
