Riot Games' official 2021 Season broadcast set the tone for what’s to come this year. In the competitive League of Legends category, Shenzhen was announced as the chosen city for this year’s world championship.

Located in the southern part of the Guangdong Province of the People’s Republic of China, Shenzhen will be the host city of the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. With a focus on the electronics and telecommunications industry, the city is a hub for foreign investors, with the highest per capita income in the country.

It is still too soon to point out which direction Riot Games will go with this year's world championship due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the event was held in Shanghai, China, with a “bubble” system to ensure player and staff safety, having only the finals open to a very limited audience in the Pudong City Stadium.

Perhaps in 2021 we will be able to once again experience what the full Worlds experience is like.
