2020 LCK Spring Split Finals peaked at 1,074,561 viewers

On the 25th (KST), T1 defeated Gen.G 3-0 in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split Finals and claimed their ninth LCK championship.

Many fans around the world had their eyes on this match and this match recorded very high viewership. According to Esports Charts, more than one million people watched the finals between Gen.G and T1. It was 1,074,561 people to be precise. As this number doesn’t include the viewership on Chinese platforms, it is anticipated that the actual viewership is a lot higher than this.

Obviously, this viewership is the highest in the whole 2020 LCK Spring Split. The next highest was the semifinals between T1 and DragonX, and the following were the regular season matches between T1 and Gen.G. All top viewership matches involved T1.

T1 has been the most popular team in terms of viewership. During the 2019 LCK Summer Split, the top five matches were T1 games. When T1 didn’t reach the finals, the viewership didn’t even reach 700K. During the 2018 LCK Spring Split Finals which Afreeca Freecs and DragonX faced each other, the viewership was at only around 376K. It wasn’t even the most viewed game during that season.

This spring split finals was a lot more popular than last year’s spring and summer. Last year, the matches that attracted the most viewers were the two finals between T1 and Griffin where both had a bit over 700K. The one million viewers T1 and Gen.G attracted today is a lot more than the previous records.
