Doublelift reportedly up for trade by Team Liquid

According to a tweet made by Travis Gafford and then later a report by ESPN's Jacob Wolf, Team Liquid has placed Yiliang "Peter" "Doublelift" Peng's contract is up for trade. Doublelift had an underwhelming split this Spring after winning his fifth title in a row last year from Summer 2017 to Summer 2019. He himself tweeted out his lack of motivation and that he was having to work to regain their trust. Since then, the team failed to make Playoffs, and was the biggest surprise based on pre-season predictions.

As a disclaimer, this is not official news. However, Travis Gafford is a close friend to Doublelift, and likely has good information that his contract is up for trade. What isn't known is if Team Liquid has a specific trade in mind, if they're just open to offers from other orgs or if they're actively trying to trade him out, or if they're hoping to just promote Edward "Tactical" Ra who temporarily replaced Doublelift earlier on in the season. Regardless, there is a non-zero chance that Doublelift is not on the Team Liquid roster by Summer.

Where do you think Doublelift will end up? Will he find his way back on TSM? Or go elsewhere? Or do you think he stays on Liquid and re-prove himself as the best ADC in NA? Let us know on Twitter, and look out for more esports news and content.
