Nexon (Co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook) announced on the 22nd that it has conducted an update to its mobile MMORPG 'MapleStory M' adding single modes for the top-tier bosses, 'Black Mage' and 'Chosen Seren'. This update was prepared to provide new goals and challenges to users who wish to take on the challenge of defeating bosses through solo play without cooperating with other users. The entry level requirements are set to be the same as the existing Multi Mode: Level 250 for the Black Mage and Level 260 or higher for Serene the Chosen. Successfully defeating a boss in Solo Mode yields rewards identical to those in Multi Mode, and clearing the Black Mage's Single Mode also provides a special commemorative achievement. Along with this, a new system called 'Prayer' has been released, allowing players to enhance character stats using Stigmata obtained from boss battles, further expanding the uses of in-game currency. Prayer is a system that resets passive effects called Blessings by consuming Stigmata Crystals; as experience points accumulate during prayer and the level increases, Blessing slots are unlocked or the maximum grade of the Blessings that appear rises. The Stigmata Crystals required for enhancement can be obtained by defeating bosses or dismantling existing Stigmata. The second phase of the M4U main event, 'Invitation of the Bosses,' featuring generous rewards, will also run until June 17. Following the first phase, new bosses will appear to distribute various items, including experience points and M4U Coins, according to a set schedule. In the sub-event 'Find the Black Mage,' players can acquire up to five Black Bundles per day by engaging in auto-battle with a character level 250 or higher; using these to summon and defeat monsters will yield Sol Erda's Energy and Sol Erda Fragments. Completing all related achievements will grant additional rewards including M4U Coins, Sol Erda, and Black Reincarnation Flames. In addition, a variety of mini-game events prepared by bosses await users, including Damian's Mark Avoidance, Rescuing the Lucky Box Caught in a Spiderweb, Invitation to the Deepest Dream, and Suu and Orca's Daily Missions. Furthermore, the M4U Coin Shop will operate for the second time until June 21st. Users can use M4U Coins obtained through events to exchange for various growth items at the dedicated coin shop. During this second phase of operation, the purchase limit for items from the first shop will be completely reset, and rare items such as Authentic Symbol: Cernium and Hyper Stat Enhancement Meso Mileage Cards can be newly purchased.
