WEMADE Chairman Park Kwan-ho has signed a contract to sell his entire stake in the company for approximately ₩920 billion. Through this transaction, WEMADE has established a strategic partnership with an investment platform possessing a global network, marking a significant milestone for next-generation AI innovation and global market expansion.
WEMADE announced on the 30th that Park Kwan-ho has signed a Stock Purchase Agreement (SPA) to sell his entire stake in the company. The total transaction value is approximately ₩920 billion. The acquisition is led by NeoPulse, an investment platform with close ties to Alibaba and major Chinese gaming companies.
NeoPulse cited WEMADE’s top-tier MMORPG development capabilities and the strong competitiveness of its flagship IP, MIR, in China as primary reasons for the investment. Moving forward, NeoPulse plans to drive sustainable growth by pursuing new global titles, including those for the Chinese market, and diversifying and advancing IP business models through collaborations with leading Chinese IT firms, game developers, and publishers.
The deal was driven by a shared vision of evolving into AI-based future gaming and accelerating expansion into the Chinese market. Convinced that AI will fundamentally transform the gaming industry, both companies intend to actively integrate advanced AI technology across game development, next-generation graphics, digital humans, and live services to enhance both content quality and user experience.
The ₩920 billion valuation reflects the proven, sustained revenue-generating power and value of the MIR IP in China—demonstrated through subsidiaries like ChuanQi IP—as well as the future growth potential arising from AI integration and global distribution synergies.
A WEMADE representative stated that the future of the gaming market will be determined by how effectively companies utilize AI. They added that this partnership, built on strong consensus and trust, will serve as a key opportunity to secure a leading position in the next-generation gaming market, and that WEMADE will continue to meet market expectations through rigorous localization strategies and strengthened AI-based game development capabilities.
